Violoncelliste & Conceptual Designer: Arts in Motion – Spring 2013

Arts in Motion: Spring

Every year in Nature we are witnesses to Tragedy and Triumph through the coming and going of Seasons; Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer.

For many centuries the seasons have been depicted in a variety of ways as seen through Art, Dance and Music, the brightest season being Spring. The continual expression of Hope is demonstrated in Artist’s depictions and phrases ex: “Hope Springs Eternal”. As Nature intended, our Winter’s Tragedy will always ride its expressions of Hope towards Triumph, which is Spring!

Discussion:

As Artists, Musicians, Human Beings, are we as in Nature’s Seasons, compelled to use Images of hope, as the continual springboard that takes Tragedy to Triumph? OR, have we destroyed the nature of the Seasons by turning Hope into a new clinical term for “Crazy”?

Should the latter hold true, there must be a lot of ‘crazy’ people out there.

Happy “RITES OF SPRING”!
